Founded in 1989 by Joel Deriso, Other Side Sod is a family-built business that strives for providing premium quality sod to families and businesses throughout Southwest Florida. 

After working for other successful sod companies, Joel struck out on his own, harvesting, delivering, and installing different types of turf grass. Eventually, Other Side Sod made the decision to end the installation side of the business and focus on growing and selling wholesale turf. In 2004, Joel’s daughter and son-in-law, Jenna & Michael Brucker started working at Other Side Sod. Today we own and lease over 2000 acres of Bahia and 700 acres of floratam.
